Bad Mommy

I have had days were I wondered what I was doing and if I was cut out for this mom stuff but I always knew that by the next morning things would be right again. NOT this week. Some sort of switch went off in the boys last Sunday night at about 7:30 pm and it never got switched back. The first three days of this week was spent being screamed at all day and all night. Carsten managed to wake -up two nights and scream at me for 2 hours because I couldn't find his green shovel and I wouldn't allow him to sleep in my bed. After being bit, screamed at and sleep deprived I was really wondering if this was going to be the rest of my life! Finally after hearing I was a "Bad Mommy" for the nth time one morning I told the boys that if I was such a bad mommy they could just go and find a new one that wasn't so horrible. Benjamin's eyes got really big and he quickly said that he loved me and didn't want a new mommy. Carsten went to the garage and got his boots on.

Sorry that those boys were being so rotten. We have all been there. Maybe not that extreme but I am glad those boys came to their senses again. Have a better day!

Catherine, You do such a great job on your blog! Your stories just make me laugh and it's nice to hear about my nieces and nephews...the good and the bad! Sure wish we lived closer.

Catherine,
I could see my boys doing every bit of that! I have been trying to determine which one would elect for a new mom! I always say if you can't laugh at motherhood you would just cry. Sometimes I laugh sometimes I cry! Hang in there you are doing a great job and have a great family!
Love,
Kim

Oh man. You just put into words everything that I've been feeling about motherhood lately. Well written.

So I wrote a comment stating you can drop the boys off here for a bit and they would say you are a magnificent mommy (I need to add a line here) BECAUSE I SURELY AM NOT! No really, if you want a play date or just a little break while you shop in Anchorage - just give me a call! Andrea Kincade
